Little Miss Chatterbox

Charlotte is quite the talker lately. Of course, like most toddlers she doesn't always get the pronunciations quite right. Here are a few of my favorites right now:

  • Pake and Beppe's dog's name is Rosie, or "Oh-weeez"
  • Her favorite animal: "Tee" (kitty)
  • Her favorite cartoon character Miffy is "Miff-me"
  • Animal = "almo"
  • Grapes = "peeps"
  • Blast off = "saff off!"
  • Excuse me = "simmee!"
  • Shopping = "shupwing"
  • Stop it = "top't!"
  • Seven = "senen"
  • Please = "peez"
  • toy = "tow-EE"
  • hippopotamus = "hip o pants"
  • picture = "chick-ture"

She says most of her K and hard C sounds as a T, and her Fs as an S. She asks to eat "tookies" on the "towch". "Almos" live on the "sarm" and graze in a "sield."

The other day she took a sip of water and then said something that sounded like "Ay chihuahua!" Where'd she learn that phrase, I wondered. It didn't take long to figure out that she meant "I drink water."
