Counting

Charlotte is learning her numbers.

One day a few weeks before we moved, she would say, "Eye! Six! Go!" and take off running. I quickly figured out that eye = five when she changed it up to "Senen! Eigh! Go!" Her latest running game is now "1, 2, saff-off!" (blast-off!)

--

At our going away party, I asked her "What's after seven?"

"Eigh!" she exclaimed.

"What's after eight?" my cousin asked her.

"Nothing."

--

Since then we've noticed that she mostly answers "Eigh!" to any question that might have a numerical response. We've taken advantage of this to make her look like a genius baby by asking only questions where eight is the correct answer.

What's 7+1?
What's 2*4?
What's 13-5?
What's the square root of 64?
