It was a dark and stormy night. Charlotte was awake and thirsty. She asked for water. Half asleep, I told her I didn't know where to find her sippy cup.
"On crau-ker"
"Where?"
"Crau-ker!"
"I don't understand that word."
"Crau-ker! By mouse!"
"OOOH! On the counter by where we found the mouse!"
It was the first time she used the word counter, so it was a new word for me in Charlotte-speak. Every time we walk by the kitchen counter by the sink, she says, "Mouse stuck. Take out."
After she had her water, she quickly fell asleep and I returned to my bed, chuckling at her cleverness in figuring out a way to tell me where to look that I would understand. I think she may be great at playing Taboo one day.
